Lupus Research Institute

The Lupus Research Institute (LRI) is the nation’s only nonprofit organization solely dedicated to novel research in lupus. We are a member of the LRI National Coalition of Lupus Agencies, a powerful network of state and local lupus organizations united to prevent, treat and cure lupus by advocating for lupus on Capitol Hill. The Lupus Alliance of America, Inc. and its Affiliates have donated over $350,000 to the LRI for novel research. Visit the Lupus Research Institute at www.lupusresearchinstitute.org/lupus

National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID)

NIAID-supported research on autoimmune diseases, including lupus, focuses on: developing a greater understanding of the fundamental biologic principles underlying disease onset and progression; developing improved animal and in vitro models of disease; devising improved diagnostic tools; creating more effective interventions and preventive strategies; and identifying the epidemiologic profiles of autoimmune diseases.
