What is Lupus

Lupus is a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disease that causes the body to attack its own healthy tissues and organs. Common symptoms include severe fatigue, joint pain, and unexplained fever. It is typically a difficult disease to diagnosis because symptoms mimic other illnesses. While there is no cure for lupus, symptoms may be controlled with certain medication and treatment.

A lotus flower symbolizes an image of adversity, resilience, and perseverance. The challenges faced by those who have lupus represent these same characteristics of strength. We are excited to have a fundraising opportunity to increase awareness for this disease, and to collaborate with a local organization who gives back to those within their community.
